Summer 2024
In summer 2024 we measured the tidal stream flow at the pier head for one lunar cycle using a state of the art Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter (ADV) loaned by Swansea University. These measurements are a vital first step to designing a tidal stream turbine for this location. The tidal measurements are available for all to access here.
Academic Year 2024-25
In the academic year 2024/2025, five Swansea University students conducted their final year project by designing a tidal stream turbine for installation under the pier head.

Summer 2025
In summer 2025 we held a pier walk-down and determined an initial plan for the location of solar panels (with support from Sustain Heating & Renewables) and a wind turbine.
